Did you know that every year in June in Monticello there is a nationally known watermelon festival to celebrate the season for watermelon eating? The Monticello Chamber of Commerce leads the charge of coordinating this event, see their website for more information! Several Watermelon Festival Events are held each year at the opera house including the Women's Club Fashion Show and the Rotary Club BBQ Dinner. There is even a Parade and a 5K! Don't miss it.
